About Us

Big Brick House Pasta is a small family business that was established in Wabash, but later moved to Fort Wayne. It was created as a venue for Leigh Rowan a mother that liked to provide fresh nutritious foods for her family and now yours. She pays tribute to the person who taught her how to cook, Grandma Robbins, by opening on her birthday in October of 2007. With the pasta business Leigh tries to incorporate as many local ingredients as possible. Our mission is to help build a sustainable community, by producing food products made with the fresh local bounty. We are raising the awareness of nutrition by starting the Ft. Wayne's farmers markets. With this, Leigh is contributing to a flourishing local economy and sets a standard for future growth in the County. Freshly milled flour began with Leigh 2004; it came to her attention that once a grain has been milled, the nutrients evaporate over time. She purchased a Stone-mill, a miniature version of the ones that use to set along the Indiana rivers, and began on this adventure to incorporate the fresh flour into her bread and pasta. The Big Brick House stone mill is used daily to grind small batches to provide you with the freshest and most nutritious whole grain products in the surrounding areas. Their fresh "green" flour makes the integrity and flavor of their Artisan products. The breads won her the Indiana Artisan award in October of 2008 and for her pasta when she started making it in 2014. "Simple, Savory and Spicy" is our motto, but fresh and fantastic also applies. We strive for the highest of quality by adding vegetables, herbs and spices in our small batch artisan products. These batches are naturally dried to a 0% moisture content to preserve the nutrition and flavor.
