About Us
This is an open air market with diverse products that includes fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables, flowers and perennial plants, baked goods, specialty products produced from local agricultural products. The market is located in downtown Bay City within easy walking distance of numerous antique stores and specialty shops. There are a number of restaurants and delis within three blocks of the market. The Downtown Bay City Farmers Market combines the opportunity to buy healthy locally grown food with the opportunity to browse, shop, and eat at many different and unique downtown Bay City businesses. Free street parking is available throughout downtown Bay City and items purchased at the market can be picked up at a loading zone directly in front of the market. Most vendors will assist shoppers with loading purchases into their cars. The market accepts credit, debit, and Bridge (EBT) cards.
This is the second year for this new Bay City market that was created through the cooperative efforts of local farmers, downtown businesses, local government, Bay City residents, and MSU Extension Bay County. The Downtown Bay City Farmers Market Association is responsible for the operation of the market. The association is organized under the non-profit umbrella of Michigan State University. The association board includes representation from all of these groups.
